Rome, 18 May (LaPresse) – “Energy costs have risen across Europe. But there is one question the government keeps avoiding: why will Italy be the country with the most expensive electricity in Europe by 2025? 116 euros per MWh compared to an EU average of 85. This is confirmed by the European Commission. The answer is simple: we are still too dependent on others because this government has produced nothing but propaganda. It still takes years of red tape to authorise a renewable energy plant in Italy. In Spain, they have simplified the process. We have stood still. On nuclear power, we have seen four years of announcements, conferences and slogans. Zero concrete results. Meanwhile, the only energy solutions that are truly useful today are those built in the past: starting with the TAP pipeline, which was championed and green-lit by my government. We need a serious, non-ideological energy policy. Technological neutrality, investment, simplification. Because households and businesses are paying the price for inaction.” So said IV leader Matteo Renzi in a statement.
