Naples, May 28 (LaPresse) – “Today in Hormuz we are still in a state of conflict, but the day after it reopens, it will never return to the Hormuz of the past.” This was stated by Luigi Di Maio, the European Union’s Special Representative for the Persian Gulf, speaking at the forum ‘Growing the South Amid the Global Storm,’ organized by the ‘Riparte l’Italia’ Economic and Social Observatory at the Circolo dell’Unione in Naples. “We are already reading reports that Iran is considering charging not for tolls—which are illegal under the freedom of navigation—but for services. We can avoid this situation if, as European countries, we recommit ourselves to firmly believing in international law,” Di Maio added.
