Frankfurt (Germany), 15 June (LaPresse) – The truce agreement reached between the US and Iran is ‘good news’, particularly as it could lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. This was stated by the President of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde, speaking to the broadcaster France Culture. ‘If this news is confirmed by developments in the coming days and by the signing of a memorandum of understanding, it is good news. We can only welcome it,’ said Lagarde, noting that ‘the matter is not yet settled’ and that ‘the whole issue of uranium enrichment still needs to be discussed, agreed upon and finalised in the form of an agreement’.
