Rome, 18 June (LaPresse) – In a message published by the Iranian media, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei stated that he had “given his consent” to the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US. Khamenei added that he had initially held “a different view” on the matter but “on the basis of the commitment made by the respected President of the Republic” Masoud Pezeshkian, “in his capacity as head of the Supreme National Security Council”, he authorised the decision. The Supreme Leader made it clear that Pezeshkian himself “has accepted responsibility for this commitment”.
