Turin, 26 June (LaPresse) – “My thanks go to the entire Lebanese people, who have made sacrifices, endured and faced the harshest conditions of aggression, destruction and displacement, demonstrating the noblest mutual solidarity and the most splendid national solidarity in the most difficult moments, as a single people under a single flag.” This was stated by the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, following the signing of the framework agreement between Beirut and Israel. An agreement that “marks the beginning of the journey to honour their sacrifices, so that they may return to their fully liberated land, to their homes which will surely be rebuilt and repopulated by them and their national consciousness, free and dignified, with their heads held high, under the sovereignty of a Lebanese state that shares its sovereignty over its land and its people with no one”, reads the message published on X by the Lebanese Presidency.
