Ancona, July 3 (LaPresse) – “A return of major international stars to the Sanremo Festival? We are working on it, and as soon as we have the names, we will let you know. That’s the dream, that’s the idea.” This was stated by Stefano De Martino, artistic director of the next Sanremo Music Festival, during the presentation of RAI’s programming schedule in Ancona. Asked whether the format of the Newcomers competition would change, he replied: “Yes, but it’s a surprise. I can’t reveal it yet. As soon as I can, I’ll come and explain everything about the Newcomers section.” Commenting on the possibility of Vasco Rossi appearing at the Ariston Theatre to celebrate 50 years of his career, De Martino said: “He has the keys to the Ariston—having him there would truly be a dream.”
