Asked whether the format of the Newcomers competition would change, he replied: “Yes, but it’s a surprise. I can’t reveal it yet. As soon as I can, I’ll come and explain everything about the Newcomers section.” Commenting on the possibility of Vasco Rossi appearing at the Ariston Theatre to celebrate 50 years of his career, De Martino said: “He has the keys to the Ariston—having him there would truly be a dream.”
