Turin, 18 Aug. (LaPresse) – “This morning, the Russians launched a brutal attack on a busy crossroads in Pechenihy, in the Kharkiv region – a location housing a post office and several shops, surrounded exclusively by residential buildings. At present, it has been reported that 10 people have been killed. I extend my condolences to their families and loved ones. Many people have been injured and are receiving all the necessary medical care.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote this on X. “Rescue workers,” he added, “have already brought the fire under control, and all emergency and rescue services are continuing to work at the scene. Investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances of this tragedy. We will certainly respond to this Russian attack. And it is equally important that our partners, alongside our legitimate military responses, take their own actions to put pressure on Russia and support Ukraine.”
