Washington (USA), 21 August (LaPresse) – The Supreme Court has ruled that President Trump may, for the time being, continue with the construction of the new White House Ballroom, whilst the judges continue to consider his urgent appeal seeking to allow the work to proceed. The interim order gives the judges more time to assess whether the injunction against the project, issued by a lower court, should take effect. Without the Supreme Court’s intervention, the injunction would have come into effect tomorrow, immediately halting the construction of the new Ballroom. Two lower courts have already ruled that Trump exceeded the limits of his authority when, last autumn, he had the East Wing of the White House demolished and immediately began construction of the new Ballroom without Congress’s approval.
