Washington (USA), Aug. 26 (LaPresse) – A federal judge in Boston has lifted the nationwide block on restrictions on mail-in voting, temporarily clearing the way for the Trump administration to begin implementing them ahead of the November midterm elections. Judge Indira Talwani granted the Justice Department’s request to reconsider her previous injunction following a Supreme Court ruling that deemed a separate lawsuit challenging President Trump’s order premature. The issue of the mail-in voting restrictions sought by President Trump and opposed by Democrats will likely return to the Supreme Court before the November vote.
