This was announced by Monica Cornaviera, the lawyer representing the young man’s family. “Physiotherapy is continuing successfully, showing steady small improvements”, to the extent that “Nicola is now able to get up and, with the support of staff, is able to walk short distances; indeed, today he walked the entire length of the corridor in the neurosurgery ward”. In addition, the 21-year-old has “begun to manage his own eating again”. “His neurological condition is showing signs of gradual recovery: although his memories – particularly those linked to the dramatic evening of the attack – remain very confused, progressive improvements are being noted in this area too, day by day”, the lawyer continued, adding that “Dr Carlo Marras, the neurosurgeon treating Nicola, has indicated that, barring complications, early next week he will be able to confirm the official date for his long-awaited return to Italy”.
