Milan, 29 Aug. (LaPresse) – Fire service operations are continuing in Lombardy, which was hit by a spell of bad weather yesterday afternoon: over 500 call-outs have been carried out across the region. The most serious incidents continue to be concentrated in the province of Cremona, which has been battered since late yesterday afternoon by a severe storm, with torrential rain and strong gusts of wind. In the Cremona area, teams are working to cut down fallen trees, deal with structural instability, torn-off roofs and damaged structural elements, flooding and the removal of obstacles from the road. Among the most significant operations were the rescue of four injured people who were trapped inside a broken-down car, and the evacuation of 12 families whose homes were declared uninhabitable due to the extremely severe damage caused by the bad weather.
