Milan, 29 Aug. (LaPresse) – Sassuolo beat Torino 2–1 in the early kick-off of Matchday 2 of Serie A. The Neroverdi took the lead in the 32nd minute through Cristian Volpato, who scored with a superb curling left-footed shot from outside the box that caught Granata goalkeeper Mascardi off guard. Torino equalised in the 47th minute through Comuzzo’s header, following a cross from the young left-back Cacciamani. In the second half, Sassuolo scored the winning goal in the 78th minute with a left-footed strike from their star player Berardi, who had come on as a substitute. This was Aquilani’s first win with Sassuolo, making up for the defeat in Bergamo against Atalanta. For Abate’s Torino, however, this was their second defeat in a row, following the loss to Milan. It’s been a tough start to the season for the Granata, and there’s no good news on the transfer front as yet, given the sale of Pedersen to Olympiacos and the imminent departure of the talented Njie – who, not surprisingly, remained on the bench – to Fiorentina.
