Frankfurt (Germany), 3 Sept. (LaPresse) – There is scope for launching constructive peace negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin whilst addressing the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), as reported by TASS. “Is there scope? In my view, yes, there is,” said Putin in response to a question about whether there remains any prospect, however slim, of peaceful and constructive negotiations on Ukraine. The Russian president emphasised that “first and foremost, Russia and Ukraine must reach an agreement between themselves”. “We are grateful to all those who are seeking to contribute to the resolution of this issue,” Putin added, going on to explain that contacts between Moscow and the administration of US President Donald Trump are continuing.
