Frankfurt (Germany), Sept. 3 (LaPresse) – The Iranian military says it struck satellite communication systems, equipment depots and fighter aircraft hangars at the Ahmad Al-Jaber base in Kuwait, as well as troop positions and radar systems at Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. According to a statement from the military’s public relations office, carried by semi-official news agency Tasnim and reported by Al Jazeera, the attacks were carried out with missiles and drones and allegedly damaged communication systems and aircraft hangars. Tehran described the operation as the 31st phase of a campaign called ‘Saiqa’, meaning ‘Lightning’. The Iranian military described the Ahmad Al-Jaber base as a site that plays “a fundamental role” in supporting US forces in the region and their air and reconnaissance operations. Regarding Al Minhad base, the Iranian military said it struck troop deployments and radar systems, describing it as an important center for the air support and mobility of foreign forces. Tehran presented the attacks as retaliation for previous losses suffered by its armed forces and warned that the response to any new attacks “will be harsh and destructive” and will continue “until final victory.”
