(LaPresse) – “I am convinced that the whole team will deliver some major investigations.” Daniele Piervincenzi, who will present Report alongside Claudia De Pasquale, said this in an interview with *La Repubblica*. “We’d like to pick up where Milena Gabanelli’s Report left off, returning to discuss the nerve centres of political and economic power, the major lobbies, and the ways in which they affect our lives,” he said. “It’s only natural that the government will be the first to come under our scrutiny, but we won’t go easy on anyone.” “We’d like to move beyond the programme’s pyramid-shaped structure and involve the editorial team more, partly to safeguard *Report*’s independence and style,” he emphasises. “The aim is to reduce the portion handled by the studio presenters to give more airtime to the correspondents’ investigations.” “It’s a team that has weathered a storm; they’re also emotionally attached to the past – for many, Ranucci was a mentor. But once we’d found the right balance, everyone decided to stay. I see that as a vote of confidence,” he points out.
