Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Tass. Meanwhile, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have arrived in Moscow. The two will seek to revive efforts, now stalled, aimed at ending Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The visit comes as Kyiv and Moscow are intensifying airstrikes. The envoys were welcomed at the airport by Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev, according to the Russian state news agency Tass. Witkoff and Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, last made a known visit to Moscow in January 2026, when they met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin. They have never traveled to Kyiv, but President Volodymyr Zelensky said he expects them in the Ukrainian capital on Sunday. Washington’s push to end the war, now in its fifth year, has lost momentum as US attention has focused on the war with Iran over the past six months.
