Milan, Sept. 5 (LaPresse) – Russia has not agreed with Ukraine to a three-day ceasefire extending beyond the cessation of attacks on the capitals. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this during a meeting with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, according to Russian news agency Tass. “The Ukrainian authorities have issued their appeal for a broader three-day ceasefire, but we have never agreed to anything of the sort with them,” Putin said. “However, we will do everything in our power to ensure the safety of the negotiating process and the mediators, represented by you and those accompanying you,” he added, addressing the US negotiators. At the beginning of the meeting at the Kremlin, Putin stressed that the situation to be discussed is complex. “The situation, of course, is difficult and we have to address it today,” Putin said, also asking his guests to convey his gratitude to US President Donald Trump. “Before we begin, I would like to ask you to convey my best wishes and my words of gratitude to President Trump of the United States,” Putin said.
