(LaPresse) – Iran is reported to have proposed a seven-day plan to Washington to cease hostilities, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and then begin comprehensive talks on its nuclear programme. This is according to the New York Times. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the proposal had been sent “via intermediaries”. Iranian officials said that, although the proposal was essentially identical to the memorandum of understanding from June, it had been designed to proceed at a much faster pace. In the previous agreement, a 60-day deadline had been set for the start of nuclear negotiations.
