Football, Ranieri: "Nothing will change my mind about retirement"

Rome, May 2 (LaPresse) – “Is there anything that could make me change my mind about retiring? Nothing. I love my team, my colors, and everything that would selfishly push me to stay one more year would be a mistake for Roma. So I say no: a new coach will come, and he must have the time to work. Instead of doing one more year with me, it will be him — he’ll have the chance to get to know everything. I’ll help him with whatever he asks.”

So said Roma manager Claudio Ranieri on the eve of the match against Fiorentina.

“Qualifying for the Champions League with Roma like we did with Leicester? No, there’s nothing greater than Leicester, even though I’m deeply attached to Roma. What happened there (at Leicester) was something incredible. It's another piece of my life I’ll carry in my heart, and that matters to me. But what I say is: let’s fight, let’s fight because we don’t want any regrets. We have four matches to go, and we have to play them with a knife between our teeth,” he concluded.
