Milan, 12 Oct. (LaPresse) – Big upset in the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai, where Carlos Alcaraz was eliminated by world number 39 Zizou Bergs. The Belgian won in straight sets with the score of 7-5, 7-6 (4). With this result and given Jannik Sinner’s absence from the courts between now and the end of the season, Alexander Zverev will be the twentieth in ATP history to finish a season at number one in the world rankings. Mathematical certainty came precisely because of the elimination of Alcaraz in China.
