(LaPresse) – Following the attack in the West Bank, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he had completed an assessment of the situation with the Defence Minister, the Chief of the General Staff, the head of the Shin Bet, the head of the National Security Council and the commander of the Central Command. “I commend our heroic fighters who acted with determination and foiled a serious attack, and I wish our wounded a speedy recovery,” he said. Netanyahu stated that he had instructed the Israel Defence Forces and the security forces to immediately impose “a security cordon around the city of Hebron” and to “prepare for a total lockdown” of the entire West Bank “with effect from today”. “Our forces are operating more effectively to combat terrorism and are carrying out large-scale waves of arrests. We will hunt down Hamas terrorists and their operatives wherever and whenever. You have nowhere to hide,” Netanyahu concluded.
