Rome, 27 Oct. (LaPresse) – The Democrats say that a man has been arrested after approaching party leader Yair Golan with a knife in Mesila Park, Tel Aviv. This is according to The Times of Israel. According to the party, Golan’s security detail stopped the man, who was approaching the party leader “in an intimidating manner” during an election rally. A large knife then fell to the ground from the man’s clothing. Security personnel tackled him and alerted the police, who arrested him, the party added. “Hate speech and violence will not intimidate us,” Golan said, referring to a “direct result of the smear campaign” which, he claimed, is “orchestrated” by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The police confirmed that they had arrested a suspect near Golan, a Jerusalem resident in his twenties, who was in possession of a knife, but denied that there had been an attempted stabbing.
