Rome, 31 Oct. (LaPresse) – Ten NBA matches were played last night, all counting towards the NBA Cup. The Sixers (98–93) secured their second win in two games against the reigning champions, the New York Knicks, with LeBron James proving decisive in the closing stages. The superstar scored the basket that put his side ahead with 1.10 seconds remaining, after the Knicks had managed to regain the lead by overturning a 14-point deficit; James finished with his best performance in a 76ers shirt, recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. For the Knicks, however, Jalen Brunson’s 24 points and Karl-Anthony Towns’ 22 points and 12 rebounds were not enough, as they returned to losing ways after two consecutive wins. Golden State came back from 25 points down against the Lakers to win by as many as 17 (112–95), led by Steph Curry. Curry was phenomenal with 31 points and 8 three-pointers, a performance that rendered Luka Doncic’s 37-point effort meaningless; Doncic even ended up on the floor after being ‘dizzy’ from Curry’s feints, a moment that immediately went viral. The Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls 125–111 thanks to Payton Pritchard, who scored 30 points, and Jayson Tatum (26 points). For Boston, it is their fourth consecutive victory, whilst for the Bulls it is their fourth defeat in a row.
