Turin, 1 Nov. (LaPresse) – Genoa secured a hard-fought victory away at Lecce (2–1) in a relegation battle on matchday 10 of Serie A. All the action took place in the first half: Osmajic opened the scoring in the 11th minute from a cut-back cross by Messias, and the Grifone doubled their lead before the half-hour mark through Messias himself, following a through ball from El Shaarawy. In the 40th minute, the home side pulled one back with a free-kick from Maleh that was ‘deflected’ by Osmajic; in stoppage time, Stulic even found the net to make it 2-2 following an assist from Gallo, but the referee ruled it out for a handball by the Lecce striker. The score remained unchanged in the second half: Genoa soared to 13 points, whilst Lecce remained on 9.
