Milan, 3 Nov. (LaPresse) – “ Whilst upholding the presumption of innocence and the defendant’s inalienable right to a defence, it is to be hoped that, now the trial has commenced, efforts will be directed towards defending the defendant’s position and that no alternative approaches will be sought by attacking Alberto Stasi once again, as has occurred recently – moreover, on matters that have no basis whatsoever nor any connection with the murder of which Sempio is now accused: any attempt to do so, as well as being futile, will, from now on, be met with a firm response from the Stasi defence team”. So said lawyer Giada Bocellari, who, together with her colleague Antonio De Rensis, is defending Alberto Stasi, who has been definitively convicted of the death of Chiara Poggi, murdered on 13 August 2007 in Garlasco, in the province of Pavia, on the very day that the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested that Andrea Sempio be committed for trial on charges of aggravated murder.
