Milan, 3 Nov. (LaPresse) – “In training today, we couldn’t even cover the whole of the midfield area. Apart from the match against Porto, we’ll need to play a game where we have to dig deep – something we need to do. They’re an excellent side at home.” So said Napoli manager Max Allegri, speaking to Sky Sport on the eve of the Champions League match against Porto. “At the moment, we’re missing a few small details to secure results; that’s the reason for this inconsistency. In the Champions League, our fate is in our own hands – 10 points takes us to the play-offs. In the league,” he added, “we’re a bit behind and can’t make up the ground in a single match. We need to focus on tomorrow’s game and prepare for the match against Lazio, trying to get as many players back as possible after the international break.” “It takes character and the desire to get the result. There are moments we’re paying the price for, but we need to improve. We’re conceding goals too easily. It’s not a question of absences; even if we’re down to 13 tomorrow, we’ll have a tough time against a side that’s in great form. After training, I’ll see who’s fit enough to take to the pitch,” concluded Allegri regarding the fitness of De Bruyne and Hojlund.
