Rome, 5 Nov. (LaPresse) – “Dissent and protest are always legitimate, but they must never descend into aggression and disorder. Those who take to the streets solely to commit acts of violence should not delude themselves into thinking they can evade the law, because they will always face a firm response from the authorities. This is demonstrated by today’s operation, which led to the imposition of 16 precautionary measures against as many militants who were responsible for acts of vandalism and clashes with the police during the demonstration on 31 January in Turin, following the clearance of Askatasuna. This is further evidence of the tremendous work carried out by the judiciary and the police to isolate violent individuals, counter any attempt to threaten national security and safeguard the democratic principles on which our country is founded.” So said the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi.
