Milan, 26 June (LaPresse) – Actress Ann Blyth, who was nominated for an Oscar at the age of just 17 for her role as Joan Crawford’s rebellious daughter in *Mildred’s Story* and later starred alongside Mario Lanza and Howard Keel in MGM musicals of the 1950s such as *The Great Caruso*, has died at the age of 98. Blyth died of “natural causes” at her home in Rancho Santa Fe, California, according to her daughter Eileen McNulty. Her family were by her side. Blyth was one of the last surviving artists from the old Hollywood studio system. The versatile actress starred in children’s films and dramas such as ‘Another Part of the Forest’, and alongside actors of the calibre of Tyrone Power, Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum.
