Milan, July 2 (LaPresse) – On July 9, 2026, TAM Teatro Arcimboldi Milano will host Pat Metheny, the undisputed master of the guitar, in concert with the Side-Eye III+ tour. Winning a Grammy Award during a career is already an exceptional achievement; Pat Metheny has won as many as 20, including seven consecutive awards for seven albums, and since 2013 he has been a member of the DownBeat Hall of Fame, which includes only seven other guitarists: Charlie Christian (1966), Wes Montgomery (1968), Jimi Hendrix (1970), Django Reinhardt (1971), Jim Hall (2014), George Benson (2020) and John McLaughlin (2024). With the release of his first album, Bright Size Life, Metheny reinvented the traditional sound of jazz guitar for future generations and, throughout his career, has continued to redefine the genre through the innovative use of emerging technologies that have expanded the expressive potential of his instrument. He is also renowned for his versatility. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists as diverse as Steve Reich, Ornette Coleman, Herbie Hancock, Charlie Haden, Jim Hall, Milton Nascimento and David Bowie. His body of work includes compositions for solo guitar, small ensembles, electric and acoustic instruments, large orchestras and the robotic instruments of his Orchestrion project, always transcending the boundaries of different musical genres.
