Rome, Dec. 12 (LaPresse) – “We are examining the Albani expert report line by line; about twenty pages are still missing. For every statement by Albani, we note whether we consider it fully acceptable, partially acceptable, or whether it deserves follow-up questions. We have prepared a series of requests, clarifications, calm questions, not polemical and certainly not aimed at overturning the outcome of that report. There are about ten questions: today we will finish the list of questions.” This is what Andrea Sempio’s lawyer, Liborio Cataliotti, told reporters while entering the Genomica laboratory in Rome. According to the lawyer, the report, “when it was ordered, seemed to be intended as the proof that would pin down the killer. That’s how it was portrayed: the evidence of the last contact the poor victim had with the killer. The report revealed, or turned out to be, something completely different: with hindsight, it is a water pistol. At the time, it seemed like a smoking gun; now, it is a water pistol.” “And I repeat,” he concludes, “it is evidence in a prosecution perspective that is totally useless. Obviously, it is not even evidence in defense; it is water flowing under the bridges. Water.”
