Vatican City (Vatican), Apr 13 (LaPresse) – “A considerable part of the territory of this country is occupied by the desert, and in the desert one does not survive alone. The harshness of nature reduces every presumption of self-sufficiency and reminds everyone that we need one another, and that we need God. It is recognized fragility that opens the heart to mutual support and to the invocation of the One who can grant what no human power is able to guarantee: the deep reconciliation of hearts and with it true peace.” Thus Pope Leo XIV, meeting the Algerian community in the Basilica of Our Lady of Africa in Algiers. “Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, I encourage you to continue your work in Algerian land, as a cohesive and open community of faith,” the Pope added.
