Milan, 14 May (LaPresse) – The opinion on the pardon for Nicole Minetti, which the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office had forwarded to the Ministry of Justice, remains unchanged for the time being. According to reports, the investigations by the Chief Public Prosecutor, Francesca Nanni, and those of the Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor, Gaetano Brusa, are continuing, partly in the wake of new revelations by Il Fatto Quotidiano regarding witnesses to the parties held at the villa in Uruguay belonging to her partner, Giuseppe Cipriani, which could call into question the arguments regarding the ‘lifestyle’ of the former regional councillor convicted in the Ruby case and the ‘Rimborsopoli’ scandal in Lombardy – one of the points relating to the clemency granted by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, alongside the humanitarian grounds of caring for her adopted son. At present, the responses obtained by the magistrates are not sufficient to overturn the opinion already expressed in January regarding the pardon. The Attorney General’s Office intends to try to conclude the preliminary investigation into the Minetti-Cipriani affair by the first week of June. The date coincides with the theoretical retirement of Deputy Attorney General Brusa, the magistrate who has been handling this case from the outset.
