Pavia, 20 June (LaPresse) – “God does not want anyone to suffer. What God promises us is that He will always be present; even when we are too weak, He sends us angels.” Pope Leo XIV said this during his visit to the CNAO, the Centre for Adrotherapy in Pavia, where, as reported by the Vatican Press Office, he met and greeted individually the children and patients undergoing treatment, as well as their families, and addressed a few words to them. Prevost emphasised the importance of the family: “Make the whole world understand that, in difficult times, without the presence and love of the family, everything is much harder.” Prevost then thanked the CNAO, “which works miracles”, and the staff, “because God works in our lives through doctors, nurses and so many other people too”. Finally, he highlighted the importance of research as a means of preparing for the future, and urged: “When things are difficult, let us place all our trust in God.” Before leaving the Centre, the Pope recited the Lord’s Prayer together with the young people undergoing treatment and their families.
