Palermo, 2 July (LaPresse) – Life imprisonment has been handed down to Giovanni Barreca, Sabrina Fina and Massimo Carandente, the three defendants in the Altavilla Milicia massacre, in the province of Palermo, in which Antonella Salamone and her two sons, Kevin, aged 16, and Emanuel, aged 5, were tortured and killed on 10 February 2024. The President of the First Court of Assizes, Vincenzo Terranova, imposed the maximum sentence. The three have also been permanently barred from holding public office and ordered to pay compensation to the victims’ families, which the judge has set at several hundred thousand euros. The verdict was delivered after more than 10 hours of deliberation.
