Florence, 18 Aug. (LaPresse) – Another day with no health risks linked to heatwaves in Florence, but from tomorrow temperatures will gradually start to rise again. Today, Tuesday 18 August, the Ministry of Health’s bulletin confirms a level 0 (green) alert, whilst a level 1 (yellow) alert is forecast for tomorrow and Thursday 20 August. According to the bulletin, today’s temperatures are expected to reach 21 degrees at 8 am, 32 degrees at 2 pm and a maximum perceived temperature of 33 degrees. Tomorrow, temperatures will rise to 23, 33 and 35 degrees respectively, whilst on Thursday, 24 degrees is forecast at 8 am, 34 at 2 pm and a maximum perceived temperature of 36 degrees. Weather maps show that hot air is lingering over Tuscany, whilst atmospheric circulation is becoming more dynamic over central-western Europe. In Florence, temperatures are forecast to rise gradually: after the respite of recent days, the heat will therefore return, although it will not, for the time being, reach the high-risk levels seen in the first half of August. Level 1 does not constitute a full-blown heatwave alert, but rather a pre-alert issued by health and social services, indicating weather conditions that may precede a Level 2 alert.
