EU, Salvini: "National interest is not going into debt to buy weapons"

Rome, March 5 (LaPresse) – "In the best possible world, national interest should align with the community's interest. Returning to the Trump-Zelensky meeting, national interest is not about taking on tens of billions in debt to buy new weapons abroad. I believe national interest can be different—certainly strengthening defense," as well as "better compensating and hiring more armed forces and law enforcement personnel."

These were the words of Infrastructure Minister and Lega leader Matteo Salvini, speaking at the General Assembly of Coastal Tourism.
