Milan, March 7 (LaPresse) – “Today the Government takes another step forward in the systemic action it has been carrying out since it took office to combat violence against women and protect victims. The Council of Ministers has passed an extremely significant decree-law, which introduces the crime of feminicide as an autonomous offense into our legal system, sanctioning it with life imprisonment, and provides for aggravating circumstances and increased penalties for the crimes of personal mistreatment, stalking, sexual violence and revenge porn. I consider these regulations to be very important and we strongly wanted them in order to give a boost to the fight against this intolerable scourge. I thank the ministers who worked on the measure and who allowed us to achieve this important result on the eve of Women's Day”. This was stated by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.
