Work, Mattarella: ‘Fight against all forms of exploitation is urgent’

Rome, 8 August (LaPresse) – ‘The protection of workers and the fight against all forms of exploitation remain an urgent necessity, responding to principles of civilisation and a universal duty.’ These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in his message on the 69th anniversary of the Marcinelle tragedy and the 24th National Day of Remembrance for Italian Workers around the World.
‘The serious phenomena currently affecting various areas of the world, from climate change to ongoing conflicts, are driving an increase in involuntary migration, factors that often trigger consequences with significant demographic and social repercussions on working conditions themselves,’ reads the message from the head of state.
