Rome, 23 June (LaPresse) – “Futuro Nazionale has a strong team in Lombardy and Milan and upholds the principles and values of an authentic and proud right-wing movement. Futuro Nazionale will back its own candidate for mayor of Milan, who will be an authoritative figure, professionally qualified and with a decade’s worth of practical experience.” Roberto Vannacci, MEP and leader of Futuro Nazionale, responded to a question from Milano Quotidiano asking whether he was willing to support a potential mayoral candidacy in Milan by Silvia Sardone, MEP and deputy secretary of the Lega, who, alongside Matteo Salvini, received the most votes in last weekend’s Lega primaries. Indeed, it was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Salvini himself who put forward Sardone’s name to be considered by the centre-right coalition that will select the mayoral candidate for Milan. “It is probably not yet clear that Futuro Nazionale does not plan its future based on the choices of others, but moves forward according to a pre-established course, which is to serve the interests of Italy, of Italians and, specifically, of the people of Milan. We are not interested in power games; rather, our primary concern is to restore to the people of Milan a city that is safe, clean, efficient, liveable and well-organised. This is what we are working towards,” concludes Vannacci.
