Rome, June 24 (LaPresse) – The amendments submitted to the electoral law reform concerning preferences remain, for the moment, set aside. This emerged at the end of the rapporteurs’ meeting, which did not resolve the issue within the centre-right coalition. “On the set-aside amendments there is an ongoing discussion, the work is in progress. There is a willingness to discuss some of them, we will see which ones,” explained Nazario Pagano, chair of the Constitutional Affairs Committee and rapporteur of the bill, on the sidelines of the meeting. However, proposals for amendments introducing a new electoral system that includes preferences, such as those signed by Colucci (M5S) and Marattin (PLD), could be put to a vote. Reflections are also ongoing regarding amendments on the collection of signatures required for presenting electoral lists.
