Rome, 6 July (LaPresse) – Antonio Decaro, President of the Puglia Region, tops the Governance Poll’s popularity ranking for regional governors for the first time. The poll is an annual survey of the popularity of mayors and regional governors, carried out by Noto Sondaggi for *Il Sole 24 Ore*. The ranking features two new entrants: Antonio Decaro (leading Puglia for the centre-left), who tops the list with 66 per cent – two points higher than his election result – and Alberto Stefani, who heads the Veneto Region for the centre-right and stands at 65 per cent (+0.6 per cent compared to the election). Rounding off the top three is Massimiliano Fedriga (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, centre-right), who, with 64 per cent, has lost 0.2 percentage points. The two results at the bottom of the table are negative, not only because they occupy the last two positions but also because, for both Francesco Roberti (Molise, centre-right) and Francesco Rocca (Lazio, centre-right), their approval ratings, 42 per cent for both, represent a two-point drop compared with the previous governance poll and a significant decline compared with the election result – 20.2 points and 11.9 points respectively.
