Liège–Bastogne–Liège: Pogacar wins for the fourth time

Milan, 26 April (LaPresse) – The ever-unpredictable Tadej Pogacar has won Liège–Bastogne–Liège, the oldest of the Monument classics, for the fourth time in his career. The Slovenian star of UAE Team Emirates, with his usual race strategy of constant bursts of speed, ultimately broke the resistance of 19-year-old Frenchman Paul Seixas of the Decathlon CMA CGM Team – the recent winner of the Flèche Wallonne, who finished second 45 seconds behind – and Belgian Remco Evenepoel of Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe, who finished third, leading a small group of around fifteen riders 1’42” behind. As for the Italians, Christian Scaroni (XDS Astana) finished 8th and Filippo Zana (Soudal-QuickStep) 10th. For Pogacar, who has already won Milan–San Remo for the first time this year, this is the 13th Monument classic victory of his career.
