Milan, 7 June (LaPresse) – Concerns have been raised for the legendary American gymnast Simone Biles, who has shared details on social media about a health issue – an experience which, in her own words, saw her ‘almost die’. The world’s most decorated gymnast recounted on Instagram Stories that she had experienced an unexpected situation and thanked those who had shown her support. “I don’t usually share things like this because I value my privacy, especially in the digital age,” wrote Biles, 29, on the social media platform. ‘But nearly dying was certainly not part of my plans at the start of this week,’ the athlete added, without specifying what had happened. According to NBC, Biles’ representatives did not respond to requests for comment late on Saturday evening. Biles, winner of 41 Olympic and World Championship medals, posted a photo of three wristbands similar to those given to patients in hospitals. She also thanked the members of her ‘inner circle’ who sent her flowers, visited her and showed concern for her. ‘This has been one of the scariest experiences of my life, if not the scariest ever,’ said Biles, adding that she had been resting in bed this week. ‘I’ll explain it to you sooner or later,’ said Biles regarding the scare. In another post, she included a photo of two dogs on a bed with the caption ‘I’ll be here’ and a screenshot of a heart rate monitor.
