Milan, June 22 (LaPresse) – Jannik Sinner reaches 77 weeks as world No. 1 and returns to action at the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic, the prestigious exhibition event at London’s Hurlingham Club, played on grass and scheduled from June 23 to 27. The Italian, who will be at Wimbledon next week as the defending champion, has increased his lead in the rankings over Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard, in fact, loses the 500 points earned from his victory at Queen’s in 2025. Jannik, meanwhile, only sees the 50 points from last year’s Halle round of 16 drop off. As of today, therefore, Sinner stands at 13,450 points, while the Spaniard has 9,460. Alcaraz will also lose another 1,300 points, those earned from last year’s Wimbledon final, as he will not be able to compete in The Championships due to a right wrist injury. Italy maintains two players in the Top 10, four in the Top 20, six in the Top 50 and eight in the Top 100. Behind Sinner remain Flavio Cobolli at No. 10 and Lorenzo Musetti, still injured and forced to miss Wimbledon, at No. 15. Luciano Darderi gains one position to No. 16, while Matteo Arnaldi drops one place to No. 35. Matteo Berrettini remains at No. 49, while Mattia Bellucci is the Italian player in the Top 100 who gained the most positions, climbing nine spots to No. 65, just two below his career-high ranking of No. 63. Lorenzo Sonego slips out of the Top 70 and returns to action this week at the ATP 250 in Mallorca, the only main-tour grass-court tournament in Spain.
