Milan, 29 June (LaPresse) – “You don’t get results without fighting until the very end, especially when you’re fighting for survival. This year went well; I managed to stay up and Lecce stayed up too.” These were the words of Lecce manager Eusebio Di Francesco speaking to Radio Anch’Io Sport on Radio1. “Camarda? He was unlucky with his injury, but he has great potential. It’s right that he follows a certain path; just think of Pio Esposito, who, having gained experience in Serie B, then proved himself ready. Then it’s up to the club to stand behind the decisions that are made,” he added regarding the young striker who has returned to Milan. “Personally, if a young player is good, I have no problem playing him; there’s only one way to assess them: put them on the pitch. You can achieve results in any way, even with young players. We coaches must have courage, but we must also be supported by the wider environment,” he explained. On the departure of long-serving sporting director Pantaleo Corvino, Di Francesco said: “I worked with a great sporting director, but the man in charge now, Stefano Trinchera, although young, knows what he wants.”
