(LaPresse) – Spain, the reigning world champions, have consolidated their lead in the FIFA rankings following the October break: Argentina, in second place and runners-up in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, now trail by almost 40 points, whilst France retain third place. However, the most significant news at the top of the table concerns Portugal (5th place, up 2 places), which has overtaken both Brazil (6th place, down 1) and Morocco (7th place, also down one place). Belgium, the Netherlands and Mexico round off the top ten. Moving down the table towards 20th place, Switzerland has made a significant leap forward (12th, up 2 places), overtaking Germany and Croatia; both national teams have dropped one place, settling in 13th and 14th place respectively. Roberto Mancini’s Italy remains stable in 15th place with a coefficient of 1713.04.
