Gaza, Hamas: ‘Received assurances from mediators and the US that the war is over’

Milan, 9 October (LaPresse) – ‘The agreement reached provides for the entry of aid, the opening of the Rafah crossing and an exchange of prisoners’. This was stated by Hamas chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya in a speech broadcast by Al Jazeera, adding that ‘the agreement will include the release of 250 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment and 1,700 prisoners from the Gaza Strip.’ He said that ‘the Palestinian negotiating team has received guarantees from the mediators and the US administration and that all these parties have confirmed that the war is “completely” over.’
