Rome, Jun. 27 (LaPresse) – Francesca Mannina, an Italo-Venezuelan woman of Palermitan origin, has died in Venezuela as a result of the earthquake that struck the South American country. The woman, born in South America, was the daughter of a family that emigrated from Balestrate, in the province of Palermo, to La Guaira, a coastal town a few kilometres from Caracas. The news was announced by her uncle Davide Emma on social media. “Goodbye, my niece with a huge heart. Always ready to encourage, to give hope and to wish well. You always managed to make us smile. Now the earthquake has taken you away and the pain you have left is indescribable. But you will live forever in my heart, in a place where even death will never reach you. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood by us and who until the last moment joined our hope of finding you unharmed,” he wrote.
