Privacy, Meloni: ‘Authority elected by PD-M5S, if they don’t trust it, they shouldn’t blame me’

Rome, 10 Nov. (LaPresse) – ‘I want to say one thing: this Privacy Guarantor was elected during the yellow-red government’, therefore by the PD and M5S. It has a president from the PD, so to say that it is under pressure from the centre-right government seems ridiculous to me. In other words, if the Five Star Movement and the Democratic Party don’t trust the person they put in charge of the Privacy Authority, they can’t blame me. Maybe they should have chosen better. Then we can discuss the law if you want, we can rewrite the law, but I didn’t write it either, so maybe you should blame someone else for that too.” This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, speaking to journalists at Fiumicino airport before leaving Rome for Bari, where she will take part in a rally of centre-right leaders in support of Luigi Lobuono’s candidacy for president of Puglia in the late afternoon.
