Rome, 21 December (LaPresse) – ‘The week ends with Meloni rejoicing over the approval in Europe of 90 billion euros that we are allocating to Ukraine with our common debt, while we remain on the sidelines of the peace negotiations, and the sad theatre of a miserable and unfair budget.’ So said M5S president Giuseppe Conte on social media. A budget that does not address the crisis in public health, worsens the Fornero law by increasing the retirement age, cancels the “women’s option”, cuts school funding and adds taxes on online parcels, excise duties and withholding taxes, which will increase by up to 1% on business invoices, to the “tax book” of these years of record tax pressure, he added. Thanks to our opposition, we have managed to avert such disgraceful measures as the rush to grant tax amnesties and raise the cash limit to €10,000.” A question for Prime Minister Meloni: when it came to bringing the €209 billion of the NRRP to Italy thanks to the common debt, you abstained in Europe, he continues. Now that we are allocating €90 billion from the common debt to continue supporting Ukraine in its war with Russia, you have been decisive. Is this the Colle Oppio version of sovereignty? When will you go to Europe to ask for measures and funds for businesses, for farmers, for the collapse in purchasing power, for the health of Italians? On tariffs, there is no trace of the 25 billion promised in April, and on the housing plan, which was supposed to be worth 15 billion, there is only talk and crumbs. Every time Meloni goes abroad, she leaves no trace of a single good result for Italians: the only traces are her signatures on rearmament and a return to austerity constraints, as well as the failed negotiations on tariffs with Trump after conceding everything on weapons, American gas and tax breaks for web giants. A great success’.
